Discovery Centre fit out – Phase one complete!
Our Tomintoul & Glenlivet Discovery Centre fit out first phase was completed on Wednesday with the window display, large artifact plinth, reception desk, retail units and archive desk all installed. We’re really proud of our new sign too which was fitted and looks modern and in keeping with the rest of the exterior. The project is funded by Heritage Lottery Funded Tomintoul & Glenlivet Landscape Partnership and Cairngorms LEADER.
The ‘museum’ area fit out is the next phase and all being well will begin in early February. In the meantime Urban Display and their team are busy researching and writing the text and gathering photos and producing the graphics for the new centre.
I was reminded that it was this time last year that we packed up the museum objects and began the major clear out in advance of the building contract that started at the end of January 2017. A lot has happened in the 12 months since! We have a new team in a new office above the centre, a major building contract has been delivered on time and to budget and the fit out phase is well underway and on target for completion to open at Easter.
Here’s hoping 2018 is equally productive and rewarding!
