COVID – 19 Supporting Communities Fund Open

COVID – 19 Supporting Communities Fund Open

On 18th March, the Scottish Government announced an investment of £350 million to support local communities and households in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Supporting Communities funding forms a part of this investment package and since that time the Scottish Government, in partnership with Highlands and Islands Enterprise, has been working on rolling out the funding to provide financial support for community responses to Covid-19, delivered through community anchor organisations.

In Tomintoul and Glenlivet, TGDT has been identified as a community anchor organisation well placed to respond to local circumstances – co-ordinating and distributing funds at grass roots level and working in partnership within the community and with public services, to co-ordinate efforts in response to the pandemic.

We’re delighted to announce that the fund is now open and funding of up to £500 can be requested by groups in the AB37 9 postcode area. Fund guidance notes and a simple funding request form can be found in the downloads section of our website www.tgdt.org.uk/downloads

Round 1 of the fund closes at 5pm Friday 29th May 2020 and eligible applicants to the fund will receive their funding by Friday 5th June.
