Community Workshop: The Making of the Tomintoul Coat Replica @ The Discovery Centre, Saturday 14th March, 10 – 4 pm
Join local costumier Lara Bradbeer and her conservation team to find out more about the painstaking process of creating the Tomintoul Coat replica. This community workshop is part of the Tomintoul Coat Replica project which is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The workshop will also provide an insight into the coat’s history and give participants a rare chance to see the original Tomintoul Coat up close and outside of its usual display cabinet.
The workshop is free and open to all, but particularly those with an interest in textile heritage. Lunch will be provided.
Places are limited and will be offered on a first-come first-served basis, with priority given to those living within the AB37 9 postcode area.
Places can be reserved by contacting rebecca@tgdt.org.uk or 01807 580760.
