Great opportunity to join the team working in our Hostel in Tomintoul over the coming season.
The Smugglers Hostel is one of Scotland’s top independent hostels with a four-star Visit Scotland rating. Located close to the village centre in Tomintoul the hostel has 24 beds including two ensuite family rooms and a generous open plan kitchen / dining area. There is a small campsite / garden on site. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for guests and will be responsible for providing a welcoming atmosphere.
Purpose of appointment
Tomintoul Hostel Limited is looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Hostel Warden to help manage The Smugglers Hostel, Tomintoul. The Warden will ensure that guest’s expectations are met and exceeded and ensure the profitability of the hostels range of services. The contract will be for a fixed term until 31st October 2017
Reasonable traveling expenses will be paid but a driving licence is not essential
The role involves some physical activity including bed making and stripping and turning bunk bed mattresses
A ‘live in’ arrangement can be considered
Hours
37 hours per week. Job share is available. Additional hours may be required but are at the discretion of the line manager.
Salary £8.45 p/h
Annual Leave
There is an annual leave allowance of 20 days per annum pro rata, in addition, all staff receive 8 public holidays per annum pro rata.
